1. Editor’s Kinky Pick: Sovereign by Raya Morris Edwards
There’s nothing like a steamy cowboy romance to lull you to sleep (or keep you up all night), and that’s what you get with Sovereign. I was so entranced by the idea of this book that I had to forgo waiting for Amazon delivery and simply deal with the eBook version because I wanted to read it NOW – and it holds up.
This is a dark romance that combines sexy cowboys, revenge and BDSM all into one steamy read, and I love it. Definitely read the trigger warnings because there’s some un-aliving and non-consent, but for those willing to trudge through this is a GREAT read.
My biggest complaint: this book could use a quick editorial sweep. I’ve caught a few continuity errors that pull me out of the story (primarily in the first few chapters)… but other than that, it’s a GREAT read.
There are two more books in this series that I haven’t read yet, Westin and Deacon.
2. Snowed-In Story: Chasing The Wild by Elliott Rose
Chasing The Wild combines a steamy age gap, forbidden romance (ex-boyfriend’s dad) and sexy cowboys all into one engrossing read that’s 100% worth it. One of the biggest compliments I’ve read about this book is that it combines all the sexy kink (including the good ol’ call me daddy) without making it feel ick–and honestly, that’s a hard line to walk.
The spice is… well spicy but the story is also there with this read. If you’re looking to get stuck on a mountain with a sexy older cowboy THIS is the read for you. Take your dream location, give yourself a sexy older man and add just a lil’ dash of sweetness and you’re ready for a few nights of reading bliss.
It is worth noting that this is a slow burn. It took about 50% of the novel to truly get into the spice – with a few hints of it beforehand. But it’s a genuinely enjoyable read.
There are two other books in this series, Braving the Storm and Taming the Heart. I’ve read Braving the Storm and LOVED IT, Taming the Heart is on my TBR.
3. Plus Size Main Character: Mountain Boss by SJ Tilly
Mountain Boss is SJ Tilly’s first foray into the cowboy romance genre. It’s not cowboys exactly how you imagine them, but it takes place at a remote outdoor camp so I’m saying it fits.
We meet Courtney who’s seriously down-on-her-luck and Sterling who’s a grumpy camp owner who doesn’t want her around. It’s a bit of a slow-burn (though, admittedly, the book’s not that long) but there are some pretty steamy parts.
Plus I LOVE SJ Tilly’s books because her female characters are plus size.
I devoured this book. It actually got me out of a bit of a reading slump, so if you want something quick, engaging and steamy – I HIGHLY recommend it.

I fully admit that I don’t love the covers of the Rebel Blue Ranch Series… they’re a bit too cartoon-y for me. But they’re totally worth the read!
