10 Best Plus Size Disney Princess Costumes for 2023

Itching to dress up in one of the best plus size Disney princess costumes this year? Look no further because we’ve gathered a list of our favorites that actually come in plus sizes.

Not surprisingly, some of these were a bit more challenging to dig up. But if you want to be a Disney princess this year, size should not be an deterrent.

I did NOT get all of the princesses on this list because I couldn’t find them all in legitimate plus sizes. That said, if there’s someone missing from this list you could try a DIY costume this year.

Every girl deserves to feel like a princess, so here are my favorite plus size Disney princess costumes this year.

Tiana might not have her own live action flick (yet!), but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t deserve to come to life this Halloween.

While I love all the Disney princesses and their outfits, the green from Tiana’s is probably my favorite pick. This costume comes with:

You really don’t need much more to make this the perfect costume, but I’d recommend adding a pair of cute (but comfy) shoes. If you’re in a colder part of the world, leggings might be a good choice too.

Snow White is a classic Disney princess costume, perfect for those who love the earlier stories.

This costume comes with:

• Cape
• Headband

There’s a sexier version of this costume if you’re interested, but I personally like the classic long dress.

Rapunzel might not be the oldest Disney princess out there, but the Tangled story does have its own classic style to it. It’s the perfect pick for the more adventurous princesses out there, and those that look stellar in purple and pink!

This costume only comes with the dress, which is perfect for getting started but you might want to add your own flare to it. Some cute (and comfy) slippers are probably in order.

If you want the full Rapunzel look, you’ll probably need to secure yourself a wig… unless you happen to have super long hair already.

Jasmine is a great pick for princesses that prefer pants over dresses. Seriously, there is a lack of pants options when it comes to dressing up royal. It doesn’t hurt that her aqua blue is truly gorgeous.

Who doesn’t love the classic Belle yellow dress, it’s not only iconic but gorgeous. I’ve always secretly hoped there’d be an occasion for me to wear something that’s legitimately this grand, alas there hasn’t been (so far!).

This particular costume comes with the dress and a pair of gloves. But if you want to add a red rose to it, you’ll need to get that yourself. I’d also recommend pairing it with a set of comfy pumps for the full, dancing effect.

Cinderella is one of the most classic Disney princess costumes for princesses of all ages and sizes. It gives every girl a fairytale secret romance that they could only dream of (or watch on TV).

This costume comes with everything you need to become Cinderella this Halloween, including:

You’ll just want to add a comfortable pair of shoes and you’ll be a complete Disney princess.

I’ll admit that Aurora isn’t the first princess that comes to mind, but she does have a killer pink dress that’s perfect for a bright and fun Halloween.

You can add a blonde wig and a cute pair of shoes if you’d like. But honestly, I think you’re good without. If you want to dress up with your friends, add a Maleficent costume to your roster too!

If you’re a big fan of the movie Brave, Merida is the perfect costume for you. I’ll admit it’s not a movie I’m overly familiar with, but it does make for a great costume for princess that enjoy a good adventure.

If you want full authenticity, you might need to add a bow and arrow – though you could easily do without it. If you want a little more adventure and a little less princess, I’d suggest checking out the pirate costumes.

I struggled to find a Mulan costume that had plus sizes, so sorry I couldn’t find something larger. However, this Etsy piece does go up to a 2XL.

I couldn’t find the exact dimensions of the 2XL, but the dress itself is gorgeous. It’s worth noting that it’s shipped from the UK, so you’ll want to make sure that you’ll get it in time for your Halloween celebrations.

Finally, for those of us that love to spend time in the water, there’s the Ariel costume. Granted, this is a dress she wears on-land, but it’s probably more usable for a Halloween party than a mermaid tale.

It’s a great way to celebrate the upcoming movie and a tad bit more dressed down than some of the other princess costumes out there.

The real downside to these costumes is the fact that they are costumes. However, there are some seriously gorgeous dresses on Etsy if you want something a little more real.

Tiana has my favorite plus size Disney princess costume on this list, because I happen to LOVE the green color combo. But the runner up for me is probably Belle because I love a good yellow dress.
