17 Bath Towels for Plus Size Women You Need

Let’s be honest, regular towels suck for plus size women.

They’re not big enough to wrap around your body, making them a real bummer to try to dry off with.

Luckily there are bath towels for plus size women out there.

Getting yourself one of these can make taking a bath or shower a pleasant experience. 

Just because we’re fat doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be able to wrap ourselves up in something plushy to dry off.

If the world doesn’t conform to us (and let’s be honest, it won’t) then we may as well make it work as is.

Since “regular” ones are made for smaller people, I’ve made a list of a few that give you more to work with.

With a bigger towel that covers your body, you shouldn’t have to use more than one!

Beach towels

While you can take a regular ole cotton towel to the beach, chances are you have separate beach towels.

I fully admit that I don’t really have separate beach and home towels, but I like the look of the beach towel better.

Plus, they tend to come larger to begin with.

Which leads me to conclude something made for the beach is the perfect plus size towel.

But, not all beach towels meet the criteria.

1. Plus size beach towel

I love this beach towel by H&M particularly for the aesthetics.

What I like about this towel is that while it is built for the beach, you could easily make it fit with typical bathroom aesthetics.

This towel is made of 100% cotton and features a twisted-fringe accent on the shorter sides.

It’s lightweight, fast drying, and perfect for your beach outing or to pack in your travel bag.

2. Thin cotton beach towel 35 x 65

I own 2 of these H&M cotton beach towels, and I love them.

I can attest to the fact that they fit a plus size body, at least one of my size.

That is, 50-inch bust and hips, anywhere between a size 18 and 22, depending on who’s making the clothes.

There are a few things to note about these towels:

• They’re thin so they dry fast and pack easy, but don’t have that cozy towel feel
• While they’re bigger, they only have 65-inches and if you’re tucking one end into the other you might need a few extra
• There’s not a ton of color variety, but the grey is neutral enough to work with all my stuff

I highly recommend grabbing one or two of these towels if you’re constantly on the road like me.

3. Patterned beach towel 36 x 72

This XL beach towel is fun and a typical summer pick.

You don’t have to go with the turtle patterned one I’ve picked out (though it’s hella cute).

Kohl’s has a ton different choices by The Big Ones (the linen brand).

The towel measures 36 by 72 inches and is made of cotton.

It’s a fairly typical beach towel that might not fit with the rest of your bathroom attire.

But it might just be the best fit for your body!

4. Wide beach towel 72 x 60

Not quite square but wider than the average pick, this oversized one is a great plus size beach towel if you’re on the taller side.

Or, more accurately, if you have a taller torso to cover up.

I love the color schemes available for beach towels, though they might not be the most bathroom practical.

If you’re looking for a plus size bath towel that looks line the average one, then the Cotton & Calm is for you.

These classic towels come in a ton of adult like colors, including grey, blue, chocolate, and beige.

The advertisement for these bad boys says that they last a long time and absorb more than your average Turkish towel.

I can’t personally attest to either of those things, but I do have a similar set and would say that’s an accurate description.

In traditional bath fashion, these are easy to care for, and they’re 100 percent cotton, so you know they’re plushy.

Most importantly, they’re considered extra large at 35 by 70 inches.

3. Aston & Arden oversized towel 35 x 70

If you’re looking for something fun but in the realm of a typical towel, this Aston & Arden pick is for you.

It measures 35 by 70 inches, is made of a soft cotton, and features a green and blue striped patterned.

Whether you need a luxury towel for path time or pool time, this plus size oversized towel is for you!

4. Extra large plush 40×80

Looking for regular-style bath towels for plus size women?

It comes in a neutral grey, which is perfect if you’re looking for something basic for your bathroom.

How do you match plus size towels to your bathroom color scheme?

If you can manage to match your bath towels for plus size women to your bathroom color, that’s great.

But to be honest, my plus-size Turkish towel actually doesn’t match.

I have my set of “regular” towels that go with my color scheme and my extra-large towels that hang on hooks instead of the towel bar.

My bathroom decoration works out like this because my Turkish towel came well after the original towel set I purchased when I moved out.

I’m all about having matching things in my house (or at least a scheme) but it’s not worth replacing your entire set!
