Are you interested in getting your hands on an Ipsy Glam Bag but are still a tad bit on the fence? I totally get you. The June 2020 Ipsy Glam Bag is my second.
At the end of the day, I have to say the quality of the products are great and I’ve loved the testers that I’ve got here. So, let’s see what I got in this month’s bag and how much I love it!
What was in the June 2020 Ipsy Glam Bag?
The June 2020 Ipsy Glam Bag is the second Ipsy bag that I’ve received and I have to say they have quality products. But I’m a little so-so on some of them (especially from the last bag).
That said, the June bag was shades better than the last bag that I got. So, without further ado, here’s what I got in this month’s bag:
Hanalei Face Masks: Lychee & Papaya
I am a huge fan of Hanalei products, despite the fact that I can’t get them shipped here (save for in subscription boxes) so I was stoked to try their Hanalei Face Mask Sheet Set.
It comes with two masks—the lychee and papaya. So far I’ve only used the lychee but it was lovely. I put it on while I was soaking in the tub and relaxed while listening to a true crime podcast.
This face mask smells nice, it feels relaxing and it’s super easy to use. They do recommend leaving it on for 20 minutes, which is a long time if you’re just sitting there. And the sheet mask does have a ton of product on it, so you’ll have lots left to rub in after you’re done!
Cake Milk Made Hand Cream
The Cake Milk Made Cream makes your skin feel amazing. If you’re looking for a hand cream that will give you impossibly soft skin, this might just be the perfect solution for you.
I will say that this hand cream does have a strong candy smell. So, if you’re looking for something with a mute scent it’s not for you. But on the plus side, there’s no parabens or phthalates.
The strong scent of the cream doesn’t put it on the top of my must-have list. But if I could find one with a less sugary smell, I wouldn’t hesitate to get myself a full-size tube.
Ciate Wonderwand Mascara
The Ciate Wonderwand Mascara is a lovely solution for those looking for a medium coverage. It has a nice dark black colour for great definition and a brush that’s comparable to the one found in Too Faced’s Better Than Sex.
I was excited to see that I had a mascara in the June 2020 Ipsy Glam Bag because I love testing out new styles. While I won’t be replacing my regular mascara with this, I did enjoy the wear.
I didn’t love that the coverage for a single-coat wasn’t quite up to Better Than Sex’s standard, but an extra layer or two can get you there. I also found it to be a bit sticky before it dries.
RealHer Moisturizing Lipstick
If you’re looking for a great neutral-pink lipstick to add to your collection, then you might want to consider the RealHer Moisturizing Lipstick in Girlpower.
The colour of this lipstick is really nice, but I put it on for the afternoon and it didn’t seem to stay on for a prolonged period of time. The colour is also more of a pink than I like in my neutrals.
On the plus size, this lipstick is super creamy and slides right on. It’s a great colour if you’re looking for a neutral-pink and it’s possible that it lasts longer than I experienced because I typically have a layer under of Burt’s Bees, which can affect it’s staying power.
Hey Honey Trick And Treat CC Cream
If you’re looking for a great moisturizing colour correcting cream, I recommend checking out Hey Honey Trick And Treat. I’ve never used CC cream but gave it a try when it came in my Ipsy Glam Bag and I can’t complain.
CC cream stands for “colour correcting” which means it helps to even out your skin tone and give you a comfortable even base. But it also helps to provide more coverage than a BB cream. This one also moisturizes which is nice!
The downside to this cream is that it does not contain any SPF or sun protection, which is a downside especially in the summer. I’d love to replace my tinted sunscreen with this because I like the feel better, but no such luck.
Should You Get an Ipsy Glam Bag?
I was on the fence about the Ipsy Glam Bag but decided to try it out. I think the price is great, it’s less than $20 a month and you get a chance to try out some brand new makeup.
The downside is, they’re all trial samples. So, if you like them you’ll have to shell out for the full size one—and a lot of them are quite pricey. But it’s super easy to cancel, so if you’re a makeup fan, I would recommend check it out.
