Whether you’re looking for a gift for yourself or someone else, throwback 90s Christmas gift ideas are a ton of fun.
I grew up in the 90s, and at some point pretty much all of this was on my wish list. From Tamagotchi to Rubick’s cubes, we’ve got a ton of great picks from your childhood that you’re definitely going to want to throw under the tree.
Have some fun and throw an incredible gift under the tree!
I definitely killed one or two Tamagotchis in my life.
But having a virtual pet was a ton of fun. You feed these bad boys, play with them, put them to bed and wake them up, and take care of them when they’re sick. They were great for teaching responsibility when you remembered they were there.
In 2020, they’re a great distraction when you’re stuck indoors and are sick of reading “news” on Facebook.
The original Sims was BY FAR one of my favourite things of childhood. I still remember the Christmas that I got the game and spent all day playing it on the huge ass Windows desktop in my room.
Nowadays they have The Sims 4 which I STILL play. It’s like the original but way more realistic and a ton of fun. The main game is much cheaper than the original was back-in-the-day, with the expansion packs being a bit more pricey. But they’re on sale right now for Black Friday—so get them while they’re hot.
If you want to go back in time again, you can get The Sims 2 for your Macbook through the app store.
LITE Brite was a ton of fun when I was growing up.
It gave me an opportunity to be creative and make gorgeous, fun designs with light and colour. I probably spent hours sticking the coloured pegs into the black sheet of paper.
If you’re looking for a creative outlet while you’re stuck at home, this could be a great pick for 90s Christmas gift ideas.
Lip Smacker Coca-Cola party pack
Who didn’t love Lip Smackers in the 90s? It was the perfect lip chap with fun smells.
The Coca-Cola Party Pack is a great pick for the 90s kid looking for a throwback gift. If you’re looking for a stocking stuffer, it’ll fit in there perfectly. You’ll get eight fun scents, including Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Cherry, Coca-Cola Vanilla, Sprite, Barq’s Root Beer, Fanta Grape, Fanta Orange, Fanta Strawberry.
This makeup has been around since 1973, and they have authentic flavours and scents. You’ll absolutely love it.
Roll-on body glitter
For some more 90s throwback fun, getting some roll-on body glitter will set up your makeup game.
While it’s not the original, the Black Bamboo Beauty set of two roll-on glitter tubes will make you nostalgic for the good ol’ days of childhood. Forget about bills, work and roll on some sparkles.
Throw a set of these bad boys into your Christmas stocking for a delightful holiday season.
Etch A Sketch Classic
The Etch-A-Sketch brought a lot of fun to a lot of 90s kids, and now you can have that experience too.
They’ve been around for over 60 years, which means their Diamond Edition could be yours. You can spend hours drawing line-filled pictures on one of these bad boys. It’s the perfect quarantine gift.
Find your perfect throwback 90s Christmas gift idea this Christmas, because it might just be an Etch-A-Sketch.
Goosebumps Retro Fear Set
This is one of the only 90s Christmas gift ideas that I didn’t have under my own tree because I’ve never actually read goosebumps. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t know they’re the jam.
If you’re looking for a great book gift this year, check out the Goosebumps Retro Fear Set. It features five books including Stay Out of the Basement, Werewolf of Fever Swamp, The Haunted School, Piano Lessons Can Be Murder and Cuckoo Clock of Doom.
This is an especially great gift if you’re looking to up your reading in the new year. There’s no reason you can’t dig into some of your childhood favourites.
I could NEVER solve the Rubick’s cube. Both my cousin and brother can solve it in a minute or two but not me.
If you could use some 90s love this holiday season, the Speed Cube Set could be a ton of fun. Instead of just the standard cube, you get a smaller one and a pyramid to try and solve.
Why not pick a gift that means less screen time… at least until you figure it out.
Butterfly hair clips
I used to LOVE Butterfly Hair Clips.
They were easy to use and made your hair so much more fun. I had a ton of them, though they eventually all ended up broken because I stepped on them or tried to clip too much hair.
If you’re feeling a little nostalgic about them, then maybe a 100-pack of clips could be a great gift this year.
This NES classic system comes with pre-installed games that include, Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, PAC-MAN, Dr. Mario, Mega Man, Final Fantasy and dozens more.
If you’re looking for a little downtime this holiday season, this could be a ton of fun for you or someone you love.
Looking for a 90s throwback makeup case?
I remember Caboodles makeup fondly, though I admit I never had a Caboodles On-The-Go case myself—but that doesn’t mean that I didn’t want one.
This case can hold all of your makeup essentials. It might be the perfect throwback 90s Christmas gift idea for the makeup enthusiast in your life.
Lisa Frank stationary
Everyone had Lisa Frank stationary in the 90s, and now you can too.
It’s perfect to lie on your bed and write your thoughts down like “Nate is so cute” and “Mrs. Thomas Smith”. It’s time you start journaling again, no?
Retro game boy
I never had my own Game Boy, but both my brother and sister did. I did manage to get my hands on it every once in a while.
This handheld game console comes with 400 classic pre-loaded games, including puzzles, arcades, shooting, racing, fighting and adventure. It’ll be a great game for you, your bestie or the kid in your life.
It’s one of those great throwback 90s gift ideas. Wrap one up and throw it under the tree.
Realwell pink Good Vibes Only neon sign
I remember wanting a retro neon sign in my bedroom, but now is the perfect time to live that dream if you (or your friend) had it too.
This neon Good Vibes Only sign is the perfect addition to your adult apartment. Who says adulting can’t be a little bit fun every here and there—I mean, you get to decorate your own place!
I remember getting a Furby and thinking it was super cool.
It was kind of like having a physical version of a Tamagotchi. They responded to you and always wanted cuddles—like having your own small dog.
You can relive that childhood memory by getting yourself or your bestie your own furry friend.
